Beer battered Fish Burger & Fries

 For the lightest, crispiest fried fish and fries, you can’t beat the technique of Beer Battering. This juicy and flavoursome fish burger recipe is bound to please everyone for lunch or dinner this Summer ☀️.

Ingredients:

- 1 serve potato utopia beer battered chips 
- 120g barramundi (boneless & skinless)
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1/2 cup rice flour 
- 1/2 cup cold beer 
- Pinch of salt 
- 2 cups vegetable oil (or oil of your choice for deep frying)
- 1 burger bun
- Homemade tartare sauce (mayonnaise, dill, lemon, pickles, parsley onion powder, salt & pepper)
- 2 small lettuce leaves 
- lemon wedge 

 

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven and cook chips as per packet instructions
  2. Pat the fish dry with a paper towel and coat each side with half the rice flour 
  3. Create your batter by mixing together the plain flour, remaining rice flour, cold beer and salt. Lightly whisk then coat fish on each side 
  4. Deep fry the fish in the oil for 3 minutes or until brown and crispy on the outside
  5. While the fish is cooking, brown your burger buns in a pan or toaster
  6. Remove fish from the oil and place on a paper towel for 2 minutes till serving 
  7. Remove chips from the oven and place on the plate
  8. Create your fish burger by layering the base bun with tartare sauce, lettuce, fish, lemon and the top bun
  9. Eat immediately and enjoy!
